Defend towers head-to-head

Legion TD 2 is a competitive tower defense game. Originally based on a Warcraft III mod, this indie strategy game is now completely separate from its origin. In this game, you create and customize fighters to battle attacking enemies. There are over 100 units to choose from, divided into eight legions.

In Legion TD 2, you can choose to create a formidable offensive right off the bat to pulverize your enemies or go slow and focus on building a tough defense that no one can penetrate. Since there are so many variations of gameplay, this game’s replayability level is off the charts.

The best offense is a good defense

As in most tower defense games, you don’t control your units after you’ve deployed them in Legion TD 2. You put them on the field and let them do what they do; placement is the key to success. The ultimate goal is to defeat your opponent’s troops, leaving their tower open so that you can attack their king.

Unlike most other tower defense games, though, this one features multiplayer competitive gameplay, with 4v4 battles. Each troop type has its own strengths and weaknesses, but you can also add enchantments to them to give them special abilities that suit your play style.

What’s new in Legion TD 2?

Following the game’s Play-For-Free Weekend, wherein it was playable for free for a brief period of time, comes the newest patch update. It overhauls the gameplay experience a little, providing more convenience to players in the form of integrated voiceovers into the Tutorial and Coast Campaign. There are also new Ranked game quests for new players, which can also help speed things up and familiarize them with how the game works.

Besides that, there are newly released skins: BoxBox Mimic, Imperial Bone Crusher, and Hellfire Azeria. Secret card Kalm Centaur has been added to the game, as well. There are new AI difficulty levels for Expert to Grandmaster tiers. Improvements to local translations of scripts have been implemented too, and the developers have also fixed the game’s overall balance.

An interesting twist on a familiar genre

If you like tower defense games, especially if you were a fan of the original Legion TD, Legion TD 2 is well worth a look. It’s a little unpolished, rough around the edges, but it features lots of interesting gameplay ideas. Since there are many ways to play, thanks to the legion customization options and strategic choices, each session will be vastly different from one another.
